Getting Started
To start making money with Overlay.TV, you need to have an account. To create one, simply click the Sign Up button on the top right corner of the page and follow the instructions.
Next, create an Overlay on a video using products from one of our merchant affiliates that correspond with an item in your video, such as apparel or music. When you create your Overlay, click on the “add product” link and type in the name of a product you’re looking for and a list of matching descriptions will appear. The dollar signs next to the products indicate paying Overlay.TV affiliates.
To find products from a specific affiliate, simply add the affiliate name to the search terms. For example, if you wanted to link to a Harry Potter book through Amazon, you would type “Harry Potter Amazon.”
Commission
Now, when someone clicks on a product in your Overlay and purchases it, or anything else from that site, you make money by sharing in the commission. The merchant affiliate pays Overlay.TV a commission for the sale of an item and we in turn pay you a percentage of that commission. Your earnings vary between merchants but can range from 25% to 50% of the total commission.
Wallet
The commission earned from your Overlay is placed into your Wallet under “Pending” until the commission has been received by Overlay.TV from the affiliate partner. This process can take up to 60 days from the date of the transaction to ensure against order cancellations, returned merchandise and fraud. Once cleared, the commission will move from “Pending” to “Cleared” in your Wallet. You can log in to the secure area to see a complete breakdown of your account details and commissions earned at any time.
Requesting Your Funds
Once you’ve earned at least ten dollars in cleared commissions, you can request a transfer from Overlay.TV into your PayPal account. The transfer will be made from your Wallet into your PayPal account within seven business days. All funds are converted and shown in US dollars. We’re constantly working to expand our payment options, but at this time, you must have a PayPal account to receive funds from Overlay.TV.
